Clogher Valley Beekeepers held their AGM in Ballygawley on Monday night. Formed in January 2008 with 7 members, they now have well over 30 of a membership. This year they have organised an interesting mix of events and speakers, including Ethel Irvine of Fermanagh Beekeepers’, Sean Barrett of Armagh and North Monaghan Beekeepers’, and perhaps the most high profile speaker to come to an Association this year, Dr Jamie Ellis, Assistant Professor of Entomology, at the University of Florida.
Guest Chairman at the AGM was Michael Young MBE, Chairman of the Institute of Northern Ireland Beekeepers’ who gave a most informative talk on “The use of Nucleus hives” The following were elected, Chairman Trevor Watson( Ballygawley), Vice Chairman Seamus Garrity ( Seskanore), Secretary Damian Hagan ( Ballygawley), Treasurer Lexie Gates ( Dungannon), INIB rep Morag Little (Donaghmore)
