The Pollinatorsa new feature documentary is a cinematic journey around the United States following migratory beekeepers and their truckloads of honey bees as they pollinate the flowers that become the fruits, nuts and vegetables we all eat. The many challenges the beekeepers and their bees face en route reveal flaws to the simplified chemically dependent agriculture system. We talk to farmers, scientists, chefs and academics along the way to give a broad perspective about the threats to honey bees, what it means to our food security and how we can improve it.
Peter Nelson, Director and Cinematographer of The Pollinators has been a beekeeper in the Hudson Valley of New York for the past 32 years.
Demand.Film is distributing The Pollinators theatrically in the UK and works with cinema chains and art houses to book theatres. Tickets are available on the Demand.Film website and people reserve tickets in advance.  Word is spread within your community and when the ticket reservation threshold is met (usually about 50 seats depending on the venue), the screening is confirmed and the movie screens as a single night event.  Tickets are charged only at that point, so there is no risk to the audience or the theatre.  Once a venue is booked, tickets will still be available right up to the actual day of screening.
The Pollinators is an independent film that combines his love of bees and the natural world with a passion for visual storytelling.
