A sophisticated cyber attack is targeting Gmail users through unsolicited Google Calendar notifications
What is happening? Cyber criminals are sending unsolicited calendar invitations containing links to a phishing websites. For smartphone users, a pop-up notification of the invitation appears on the screen and the recipient is encouraged to click on the link. The website they are directed to then asks for credit-card details and some personal information – which is sent straight to the scammers.
Who will this affect? Anyone using Google calendar.
